We offer one and two hour treks through scenic countryside, we do not ride along the main road. The one hour trek is at a walking pace. On the two hour trek experienced riders have the opportunity to have a couple of canters, one in Glen Sannox, the other along the beach (assuming conditions are suitable). Beginners walk ahead with the leader and wait for those cantering.
There is a lower age limit of 5 years old for treks (no upper limit). For 3-5 year olds we offer a paddock ride. The current upper weight limit is 15.5 stone or 98 kilos. |
There are two one hour trek routes. A circular route around North Glen Sannox including crossing through a shallow river. Deer can often be spotted on the hillside. Alternatively the trek follows a forestry path beside the coast where seals can be spotted and occasionally otters, porpoises and dolphins.
The two hour trek is also a circular route. It goes around the hills into the very scenic Glen Sannox then follows the glen track down to the beach and back round a coastal path to North Sannox. Seals are frequently seen in the sea, and occasionally dolphins and basking sharks in the summer months.
